Miguel's Visit March 2000

David Serva and Clara Mora came to California from Madrid in March 2000 and brought Miguel Funi, the renowned Gypsy singer/dancer from Lebrija, Spain. Miguel Funi is a Flamenco legend and Freddie and I felt honored to be asked to host a house concert for Funi, David, Clara and David's son Pablo at our home, "Paradiso". After that concert, which was the second that they did in California, we spent the following week with them and we took these photos with our wonderful digital camera. Some of the photos are from our house concert and others are from the last paid fiesta at the Solano Bar in Berkeley, the Sunday before they left. We only chose the good ones to post here. David and Clara and Pablo are our good friends and it was wonderful to spend time with them again. Their photos can be seen on the 1999 Madrid, Spain pages of this web site along with the text describing our visit last August.

It was our great pleasure to meet Miguel Funi here in California and to start to get to know him. He is a gracious, kind and giving man as well as a great artist. .
